The Rhode Island Antique Fire Apparatus Society, the Rhode Island chapter of the Society for the Preservation and Appreciation of Antique Motor Fire Apparatus in America (SPAAMFAA) will be holding its 17th Annual Antique Fire Apparatus and Equipment Show on Sunday, September 15, 2024.
The show will run from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm at Johnston Memorial Park, located at 1583 Hartford Avenue Johnston, RI. Admission to the show is free. We will however be collecting new, unwrapped toys that will be distributed to needy families during the holiday season.
The show will consist of a display of antique motorized fire apparatus and other fire memorabilia.
RIAFAS was founded in 2004 by 11 people with 9 antique fire trucks. Today membership is approximately 150 members with approximately 90 antique fire trucks.
Anyone with a piece of antique fire apparatus who wishes to display their apparatus in the show can downloaded a registration form here or register online here (if your vehicle is insured, a scan of your insurance card will be required to be uploaded with your registration). The deadline to register for the show is Friday, September 6, 2024.
Hamburgers, hot dogs, & refreshments will be available and RIAFAS souvenir t-shirts and hats will be sold during the show to help raise money for the Society.
Musical entertainment to be provided by Joe Vingi of Pleasure Sounds Unlimited.
Once again, the refreshment stand will be staffed by the Providence Canteen.
Anyone interested in joining the Rhode Island Antique Fire Apparatus Society will have the opportunity to do so at the show.
NOTE: you do not have to own an antique fire truck to join, just have an appreciation for them.
